Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail

Hip! Hip! Huzzah!!!!!!!!!! 

Today President Obama signed into law the Public Lands Bill!  As most of you are aware, included in this legislation was designation of the PNNST.  It is now official the trail is a National Scenic Trail, the newest one, and the first since 1983. 

From a vision and dream in 1971 of Ron Strickland, it is finally real. 

Thanks to everyone who has had a part in this over the last 38 years.

This morning, by a vote of 285-140-6 in the US House of Representatives, legislation creating a Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail passed. 

Congratulations to all of you who helped keep the dream alive these past 4 decades and for your continued support.  One hurdle remains and that is for President Obama to sign the bill into law.
